Description

Today, Parco Natura Viva is a modern zoological park and an important conservation center for endangered species. It has evolved over time to play an active role in biodiversity conservation. The park was born from the brilliant idea of architect Alberto Avesani, its founder, who in the 1960s transformed part of his farm, established in 1933, into a wildlife area, collecting local animals to breed and eventually display them to the public. Designed in 1965, the first section of approximately 10 hectares, the current wildlife trail, was inaugurated on June 21, 1969. In 2019, Parco Natura Viva celebrated its first 50 years with its visitors.

The ARCA Foundation ("Animal Research Conservation in Action") was created by Parco Natura Viva to actively defend and protect endangered species and biodiversity. Since 2012, the ARCA Foundation has been active worldwide to spread Parco Natura Viva's vision: conserving and safeguarding biodiversity in its native habitat, protecting endangered species, and promoting ecosystem conservation, in harmony with local communities.
